The major event of the year is the autumn meeting and farm walk which members find invaluable as a source of information and advice to help with their own business.
The events are held at venues around the country, with speakers including veterinarians, butchers, wholesalers, food writers, journalists and Defra representatives.
Christmas Clearing House
During the pre-Christmas period a clearing house service puts members with surplus geese in touch with others who have a shortage.
Goose Website & Social Media
The website britishgoose.org.uk is a major promotional tool for members. The site provides consumers with a wealth of advice about buying and cooking goose and directs them to members in their own locality.
Increasingly BPC Twitter and other social media activities are used to attract consumer interest in geese.
We use public relations, which is highly successful in raising the profile of geese through newspapers, magazines, radio, television and social media, focusing on the run-up to Michaelmas and Christmas.
The PR effort is funded through a small levy on geese reared for sale.
Recipe leaflets for your customers and point-of-sale posters for use in your local farm shops, butchers or for your trade customers (see opposite).
Creative image bank – pictures of rearing geese, cooking and serving goose meat, for use by members in their own promotional material.
